Hyperthyroidism is a medical condition where the thyroid gland produces an excess amount of thyroid hormones. These hormones regulate the body's metabolism, influencing how fast or slow bodily processes occur. When there's too much thyroid hormone, the body's metabolism speeds up significantly, leading to a variety of symptoms and health issues.

Graves Disease, one of the most common causes of hyperthyroidism is an autoimmune disorder that specifically targets the thyroid gland.
