The Mayo Clinic describes Depression as...

...a mood disorder that causes a persistent feeling of sadness and loss of interest. Also called "major depressive disorder" or "clinical depression," it affects how you feel, think and behave and can lead to a variety of emotional and physical problems. You may have trouble doing normal day-to-day activities, and sometimes you may feel as if life isn't worth living.

More than just a bout of the blues, depression isn't a weakness and you can't simply "snap out" of it. Depression may require long-term treatment. But don't get discouraged. Most people with depression feel better with medication, psychotherapy or both.

Why the ; (semicolon) symbol on the bag? The simple answer is that a semicolon tattoo means that the person wearing it has overcome some sort of hardship in their life. The semicolon has become a symbol of hope for people who have battled depression, anxiety, addiction, and other mental health issues. It originates with The Semicolon Project, where you can go to learn more about this symbol, its meaning, and find support for suicide and mental health issues.

IMPORTANT NOTE Regarding the design of our mental health-related Plushie Dreadfuls. We take the topics of mental health and mental health awareness seriously. That's why our design team only creates plushies related to mental health issues with which they have direct experience. In cases where our team does not have direct experience, we assemble an external team of experts to help guide our creative process. In addition, we use Crowd Design to engage a wide range of voices via platforms like Instagram and Facebook. We gather and respond to feedback from our audience - many of whom have direct experience with the mental health issues we're exploring. And while we strive to represent as many aspects of a particular mental health issue as possible while avoiding stereotypical symptoms, we hope you understand that plush toys as an artistic medium do limit the full expression of a particular issue to those things that can be crafted in fabric and stitching.

Super Cute and Soft!

This was my very first PlushieDreadful Plush I ever got and I have to say it’s super cute, soft, and relatable. Being someone who was clinically diagnosed with depression for years now it was cool to see my diagnosis represented by a plush rabbit. It’s also super comforting to hold it when I’m going through a depression episode. The tote bag is super cute and feels/looks sturdy. What I found was cool especially with the tote bag was that on the back of it they included a bunny semi colon. I have a Cheshire Cat semi colon tattoo myself so this was super cool to see on the tote bag! So, definitely recommend these plushies especially since I already have the PTSD bunny now and am looking to eventually get a limited edition pastel Anxiety Rabbit as well! ^^

The plushy is insane, it’s super soft and even better than the picture, it’s been now 3 months since I’ve bought it and it’s my everyday friend. I love it 🖤

They love you.

Blue *(the depression rabbit)* is a lovely but shy little guy who enjoys watching documentaries with me.

his nickname is Espresso, because he loves a good coffee, he was shy at first when meeting my autism rabbit named Sasha, but they became friends not long after, they both join me on my travels,

i recently addopted Leonardo, the PTSD rabbit, he's still trying to feel at home but trusts blue,

i aim to give them all fun experiences like going to museums and teaching them about gardening.

they are all really soft and cuddly, and i love them very much,

i will adopt more.
