Trauma leading to PTSD is often the result of the destruction of our reality. A confrontation with Chaos results in our trust and understanding of the laws of nature becoming unmoored from our perceptions. The earth falls from beneath our feet. We are left floating in a void of the unknown. Who can we trust? How do we know what's real? Who are we? And how do we regain our ability to "be" again?
Once known as "Shell Shock" WebMD defines Posttraumatic stress disorder as a "serious condition that can develop after a person has experienced or witnessed a traumatic or terrifying event in which there was serious physical harm or threat. PTSD is a lasting consequence of traumatic ordeals that cause intense fear, helplessness, or horror. Examples of things that can bring on PTSD include sexual or physical assault, the unexpected death of a loved one, an accident, war, or natural disaster. Families of victims can develop PTSD, as can emergency personnel and rescue workers."

The rabbit itself is up to the same excellent quality as the other Plushie Dreadfuls. However, the masks were bent and needed to be flattened under books and have a crease now, and I didn't know the trauma bunny couldn't be removed.
I wanted to purchase one of the plushie for such a long time, but I wasn't sure of the quality... Turns out it just marvelous, it's so well made, so soft and pretty. I already bought another one (Mushroom) and I'm thinking of buying Autism or Anxiety next. I love theses plushies so much
I love my PTSD bunny, it’s so soft, and the different textures are all soothing.
I hold when I’m in therapy, and he helps keeps me calm but focused.
As I got my PTSD Bunny and placed it beside the Love Bunny, I told myself: Love is bigger than Trauma. I got Love Bunny as a present, but bought this one as a reminder of the "hole in my soul" placed exactly where this bunny´s black hole is. At first I was mad I could not remove the handcuffs, just like one wants to get rid of trauma, but the thing is you have to learn to live with it . Then I thought of little trauma bunny as the inner child that one has to protect (and not spoil) and how one can hold it to cover the hole by embracing the part of us that is broken, instead of feeling guilt, self loathing, pain and emptiness.
I think this plushie expresses just what going through PTSD is like. It is both relatable and soothing. It is an emotional comfort and therapeutic.
