A religious trauma bunny for those dealing with the aftermath of leaving behind harmful religious teachings. Some visual ideas below:
Dirt marks for the feeling of being "unclean" due to high standards of purity.
An image of planet earth broken into pieces to symbolise the feeling of your worldview falling apart after leaving a religion. Maybe question marks or a confused expression to represent not knowing what to believe.
A black veil to represent the grief of letting go of your former life.
Holding children's toys to represent a lost childhood, or a clock to represent lost time.
A compass with no needle to symbolise the confusion and lack of direction due to no longer being told how to live.
An X on the chest for the feeling of being born bad or wrong.
Coloured in different shades of grey to symbolise that things aren't black and white.
Tape over the mouth to symbolise not being able to speak up or question teachings.
Self inflicted trauma. I have a friend that lost custody and had to give up her kids when she was an addict and can never make it up to them. I didn't see the rabbit with the sewn up chest on sale anymore but I thought a rabbit, holding her own heart in her hands along with a corresponding hole in her chest. Either that or a target showing the arrows in her heart. Thank you
Maybe a redo on FND Bun?
I really love how the fluff on the Overthinking Bun prototype looks like since it looks super close to the concept art and it reminded me of the concept art for FND. It would be kinda neat to see a fluffier FND bun tbh.
I second the alter buns for systems!!!
What about a hyperhidrosis bunny? It literally sucks having this condition and I would love a little funky guy. Maybe it could have coloration in the usual spots but idk I'm not a plush maker ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ
Anorexia Nervosa/Restrictive Eating Disorder bunny. Proud owner of ARFID bunny prototype and those of us in recovery would love a bunny buddy.
I like the idea of a pre-diagnosed/undiagnosed bun….to represent the struggle before the answers. Perhaps in a patchwork design to represent the symptoms that don't always in a stereotypical diagnosis of illnesses or diseases.
could there be a bunny for emptiness, and/or loneliness?
many people with trauma struggle with persistent feelings of emptiness and loneliness, but loneliness is also such a universal issue and I think a buddy to help with that would be really appreciated!
I love this idea! My partner and I would love to see this happen as well.
Perhaps the bun could have some traits of mythical rabbitesque creatures like wolpertingers and jackalopes- antlers, wings- in a different color/texture of fabric to symbolize phantom limbs and other appendages that some folks experience?
I know that a rabbit for Vasovagal Syncope is already being considered, but I’d just love to reiterate that this would be a fantastic bun to have! The condition is very similar to POTS, so I’ve been looking at that bunny for inspiration and ideas of how to visually represent similar symptoms while still having a distinct bun that really embodies my condition.
Here’s some traits I think it would be important for VSbun to have!
- The legs of the plush could have a swirled design either all over or as a pattern on the feet to symbolize balance issues
- I don’t know if this is possible given the medium of plush rabbits, but those doll eyes that close when the doll “lies down”/is set down flat on its back could be a great way to symbolize fainting that occurs because of position changes.
- Many of us wear compression socks and other binding garments to help with this condition. A bunny with little socks would not only be great representation, I think it would be the cutest thing ever.
- I know a lot of the buns use alchemical symbols, so one for salt might work nicely. One of the treatments my specialists have suggested is increasing my salt intake. Salty snacks are our best friends!
- Some kind of heart motif for slowing of the pulse and other comorbid cardiac issues would be cool too!
Thank you for continuing to make such beautiful, high-quality lapine pals for us all! I’ve got four already and can’t wait for more!
